I’m a Parent
You know and love your children better than anyone else and that makes you the best person to judge what will be the most effective way to teach. Discussing tough topics at home will make your child less likely to look to other, less reliable and sometimes dangerous sources like the internet, the media, and other kids. It’s imperative that you are your child’s first, best source. Allow the conversation to flow naturally: interject your personal values and cultural beliefs. Keep an open dialogue so that your kids will ask you questions and trust your opinions. Never use shame, guilt or fear. There are many different, healthy approaches and we seek to share them all with parents in this section.
