Depression and suicide rates among adolescents have skyrocketed the past few years, as have the sexualization our children see in their media.

The internet is so useful and gives us a lot, but moderation and safety practices are key. Remember internet safety is an ongoing discussion.

We are living in challenging times, parenting in a technological world, but we are in the best position to advocate on our children’s behalf.

Parenting is the one job that truly doesn’t come with an all encompassing how-to book. Every child has different needs and personalities.

Communicate and find things that you will all enjoy. Putting in the work now will bring amazing results in the future. 

States need to communicate what safeguards to put in to ensure that our children are benefiting from technology, and not being harmed by it.

A lot of New Year’s resolutions revolve around our bodies. We all want to improve ourselves, but how do these goals affect our children?

There are several things that we can do as parents to help our children learn and practice emotional intelligence. Most of these things have to do with helping our children become self-aware.

It can sometimes be tough to create a safe and fun space when new technology often presents many different kinds of dangers. These can very quickly take away from the safe space you’re trying to create. But there are plenty of simple, meaningful things we can do to create a warm, inviting safe space for our families and friends.

As you talk about sex to your children and answer these questions, remember to be frank, honest, and calm. Sex is an amazing, natural part of life and it’s normal for your children to be curious about it. Be positive to your children as you talk to them about sex, but also explain that it is their body and their choice

Parents, I implore you to print out these encouraging statements and place them somewhere you and your kids will frequently encounter them.

Do you find that your child is spending too much time with screens? Do they throw a tantrum when you try to get your phone back? Do they give you the stink eye when you shut off the TV? Do you wonder if your child is forming an addiction? It’s time to set some major limits!

A good Dad can change the world! Just as mothers play a vital role in their children’s lives, father’s play an equally powerful role in their children’s lives–that no one else can truly fill.

When we interact and have fun with our children, immeasurable good comes from it. Over time, our kids will feel more important and loved.
